Support for birth and/ or postpartum can include anything non-medical including physical (ex: massage, acupressure, sitz bath for postpartum, bottle &/ or chest-/ breastfeeding support, food prep, light cleaning), emotional/ mental (ex: relaxation techniques, holding space & listening), and informational (including providing resources and prenatal and postpartum referrals). Prenatal meetings include discussion about specific methods family would like to practice for labor, birth and/ or postpartum and guidance on family sleep, nutrition, what to expect with a newborn, and space for exploring family & community dynamics.
